Please explain in precise steps aka 1, 2, 3 etc. This is completely unacceptable and defeats the point of a token encrypted digital signature system for security. Now you can only add a picture, or type a signaature. In older verions of Adobe there was a drawing tool that allowed the user to add a CAC digital siganture. There is NO "draw or add digital signture tool or button." So on a scanned document, which we use all the time in the military, there is no way to add a digital cac enabled signature to an official document. The problem is Adobe Acrobat DC (Windows version). We use them sucessfully ever day in many other programs. We do not need an explanation of how our readers and tokens work.

Mac OS 10.12.x (Sierra) through 10.15.x (Catalina) users need to make some adjustments in Adobe to be able to sign PDFs. Try this, used it successfully with Adobe DC Pro at home with my CAC and it worked:
